Olivia Isabel Rodrigo is an American singer-songwriter/actress, born on February 20, 2003. Her roles as High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' leading lady earned her fame in late 2010. Rodrigo's debut single, "Drivers License", was released by Interscope Records and Geffen in 2020. It broke many records and was one of the most-sold songs of 2021. This propelled her into mainstream fame. After the singles "Deja Vu", and "Good 4 U", Rodrigo released her debut solo studio album Sour (2021), to huge critical and commercial success. She won three Grammy Awards. In 2022, Olivia Rodrigo was featured in the Disney+ documentary, Olivia Rodrigo. The documentary traces her process of creating. Rodrigo has been an Billboard Hot 100 Number-One Single and one Billboard 200 Number-One Album, and five multi-Platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America. She has also been recognized with an American Music Award and seven Billboard Music Awards. Time named her an Entertainer of 2021 as well as Billboard the Woman of the Year in 2022. Rodrigo began singing in the kindergarten years, and then learned how to play the piano. [12] She started taking acting and singing classes at the age of six years old. She also began acting in elementary school's theater productions. Rodrigo started playing the guitar when she was 12. [12] She was raised listening to alternative rock by her parents including Pearl Jam, No Doubt, Green Day, and the White Stripes. Rodrigo discovered the art of songwriting through the country genre as well as Taylor Swift. 14 years after she received her Bizaardvark part, Rodrigo moved to Los Angeles.
