Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised by an ethnically mixed family. The mother of her child is English and her father Nigerian. She was born in the South London council estate, and at the age of 14, attended The Brit School. She studied acting in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. She appeared in many stages during her high school days, including the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared as a guest in Teachers, Doctors, Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut film as a performer was the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. Her popularity resulted in her being cast as Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. Later, she appeared in six episodes Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. She also was offered the part in the role of Bambi in the ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in series two and three. Madekwe also starred as the lead character in How to lose friends & make people feel alienated that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment back in the year 2008. Her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut in the series The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show aired just two episodes at The CW, and was eventually cancelled. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge in February of 2011. Madekwe starred as a regular character on the drama series on ABC Revenge in two episodes. In May 2013 that she was set to be leaving the series following a guest episode in the initial series of the 3rd. She was Tituba in the TV show Salem from 2014 to 2016. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. Both have appeared in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also played as a couple in Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario and was a part of a large family. Four of her older brothers were also present: twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. All of her brothers were athletic and played baseball and hockey during the winter as well as in the summer. Her childhood was spent in stadiums and played baseball. Ashley couldn't walk, however she could dance. As a result, when she turned 2, she discovered Baby Ballet. It was then that she discovered Ashley's interest in dance. When she was in high school, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of ballet, tap, jazz and pointe as well as acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical, and hip hop. She also won the top awards for soloists in every important dance competitions like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
